Style File: Darren Kennedy

Irish television personality Darren Kennedy can easily be described as one of Ireland’s best dressed males and a leading icon in Irish men’s fashion.

Kennedy has been on our television screens as a presenter of hit RTE documentaries “Gay Daddy” and “Like a Virgin” as well as regularly featuring on other popular TV shows such as: Ireland AM, This Morning and Xposé.

What really caught my eye about Darren Kennedy was his amazing sense of style which so excellently distinguishes him from any other Irish male presenter.

Irish men on television are more stereotypically over the age 40 and usually wear the banal combination of suit, shirt and tie in the ever boring navy or black varieties.

A sense of style is supposed to portray your personality without you ever having to say a word and I think Darren’s style presents a fresh, modish and connected character.

Darren Kennedy wears his trademark glasses in manner similar to British style icon Gok Wan, the glasses are incorporated in his personal style and act a vital accessory.

The Irish stylists look is essentially metrosexual, in other word he embodies the style for the contemporary chic, metro man.

For me, what makes Darren Kennedy unique is his innate ability to use his style to his advantage, to set himself off from the rest of the crowd.

He cleverly uses accessories to his benefit and he is certainly not afraid to add a splash of colour to any of his outfits.

His overall sense of style was rewarded when he was announced as “Ireland’s Most Stylish Man” by VIP Magazine last year.

Kennedy recently partnered up with renowned Irish tailor Louis Copeland and they announced the launch of a brand new collection called “DK + LC” before Christmas.
