Clare is lucky to be home to one of Ireland’s most successful and prosperous Milliners and people don’t realise to her expertise is right on our doorstep.
Sinéad Madden from Ennis launched her Millinery business in April 2012 when she was shortlisted as a finalist as Accessory designer of the year at The Kerry Fashion Awards.After leaving school Sinead began studying Interior Design with Rhodec International London and worked in the industry for many years before embarking on a new path.
Sinead had to pleasure of being the only Irish milliner to be invited to 2013 invite only Millinery Award and has now had a host of Irish television appearances including: Xpose, and the Today show.
Her fantastic new collection was launched earlier this month at the renowned Kerry Fashion Week in Europe Hotel, Killarney. One of the highlights of Sinead’s career was winning the KFW Irish Accessory Designer of the year 2013.
Sinead said: “Being one of four finalist 2 years ago launched my career quite unexpectedly and to win it a year later was an incredible honour which has opened many new doors.”
Her career began after making a couple off headpieces for a family wedding in April 2012, she then entered The Kerry Fashion Awards and was honoured to be chosen as a finalist and ended up coming in third place. Sinead has an obvious talent for millinery which are based on sewing skills, she said “I can only attribute to my education by the nuns in my former primary school, where everything from crochet, knitting, embroidery and sewing were thought.
Sinead was also part of the Ennis Fashion Week which took place in October. The highlight of the week was the Clare and Irish Fashion Designers showcase which took place in the Old Ground Hotel, Ennis where I was announced as the winner of Social and Personal Magazine Ireland’s Next Top Blogger.
Already 2014 is proving successful for her business after attending the Magic Millions in Australia and winning Best Dressed. She has also been nominated as one off Ireland hottest rising stars by Stellar magazine.
It is great to have such a talented and established designer right on our own doorstep.
Sinead Madden Millinery’s clients range from wedding guests, mother off the bride/groom to ladies who attend race meetings. Each piece is uniquely designed and handmade and is exclusively available from The County Boutique on O’Connell Street, Ennis or direct from Sinéad herself.
She said that she intends to further her education as a milliner, while working on building on her collections.
